An adventurous scavenger hunt? A local version of the 'Amazing Race'? A challenging, energetic, kick-ass time? Well it was all that and then some. On Saturday Jan. 24th a couple hundred adventurous people all met up at the Catalina Jazz Bar to get their race on. And should I mention that out of the couple of hundred people that attended, SCOA came to play with thirty of our own fun-loving competitors? Hell yes! Because by the end of the race, everyone there knew about our awesome SCOA Meetup group. Click Here

Jumping over rocks, following minimal signs of a trail, we indeed "explored" this hike. Thanks to Lucy we all got on the right track after Dawn Mill. Soft shoulders kept us on our toes and one really had to pay attention at times where to put your next foot. The higher we got, the more breathtaking the views. Click Here

11 people and some of us even worked an 11 route! 2 new lead climbers and many familiar happy faces. I left the house at 8 in the morning and got home at 9 pm - another fun filled day! To top if off, the Steelers won! Woohoo. Click Here

Join me for a for a weekend trip to Mammoth, my favorite ski resort in California. Mammoth is much larger than any local resort and large enough that you can always find areas that are less crowded, which means more skiing and less waiting in line. This event is full: If you want to try and get on the waiting list Click Here

The view from 18,000 is literally breath taking but no worries an oxygen mask is provided. While enjoying the wind in your hair falling at 120 mph you will have a commanding view of beautiful coastline to West. To the East, when atmospheric conditions permit you can almost see Mount Whitney. Imagine being able to see the East/West boundaries of California at the same time! When your parachute opens your ride becomes quieter. As your senses return and your brain catches up, your instructor will point out other scenic points of interest. Also, weather conditions depending, you will be given the opportunity to fly your parachute to landing. With your instructor's help, you will be taught how to turn, control speed and land your parachute! Got what is takes? Click Here

First timers to seasoned paddlers, we get you outfitted and exploring the 15 miles of protected waters in the beautiful Morro Bay Estuary/Bird Sanctuary just a few minutes after we park. The Central Coast and San Luis Obispo county`s most beautiful location. Morro Bay is composed of 2300 acres of mud flats, eelgrass beds, tidal wetlands and open water. Two dozen threatened or endanger species live in the area including the Peregrine Falcon, Brandt Goose, Brown Pelican, Sea Otter and Snowy Plovers. Morro Bay is a major West Coast wintering area for over 100 species of birds providing year around bird watching opportunities. Its waters are home to California Sea Lions and Harbor Seals, which use the mud flats as a hauling out area. Many type of marine invertabrates and fish are also abundant in the bay. The sand spit, which forms Morro Bay, is an excellent place to walk among the dunes, beachcomb, picnic or simply enjoy the solitude of over five miles of quiet beach. Easy flat-water access from our dock coupled with the abundance of nature make Morro Bay THE ideal kayaking destination. Click Here

We are off to the British Virgin Islands to soak up some warm Caribbean Sunshine. For 5 days (April 20- 25), we will be sailing from island to island in search of adventure. Along the way we will be: snorkeling or scuba diving, exploring Tortola and all the other islands in the British Virgin Islands. Each island is unique with it's own remote beaches, tropical jungle-like interior and small island towns. By the end of the trip, we will have seen most if not all of the islands in the area. While there will be a basic itinerary, it is only for planning purposes. We will decide each morning exactly how the day will unfold. If we find sunken treasure, all bets are off! Click Here

Saturday - We will ski/ride all day or until the snow gets mushy ~ 3PM. Everyone will hang in town and be social. I know the General Manager at the Yodler so perhaps we can enjoy a few laughs there.
Sunday - We will all meet at Snow Summit resort around 10AM where will spend the whole day mountain biking all that Snow Summit has to offer! Riding the SkyChair and barreling down sinuous single track all day is a great way to spend the day. If you haven't done it - well you are in for a treat.
Monday - We will head to San Pedro where we will catch a boat for scuba diving on Catalina Island. Specific boat info and dive location(s) TBD.

Imagine following your guide down a Class II/IV rapids on a river board, then kayaking at midnight where it is so quiet you can hear your heart beat. What about mountain biking in the Central Oregon Mountain with only you, your guide and a few close friends? Have you ever seen a wild horse or had a chance to feed one? Have you ever had dinner with 5 generations of Native American telling you their history from a multi-generational perspective; all the while surrounded by freshly caught salmon baked the traditional Native American way. Finally do you want to sleep in a tepee? Click Here
Regardless of what you decide to do - get out there and enjoy what Southern California has to offer!
