OK DC area mountain bikers, Plum Grove Cyclery is putting on an early season race. Same place as the Leesburg Bakers Dozen. Roughly 8-30 miles depending on class Here's a bit from the bikereg page:

"Come on out to Leesburg, VA for the first annual SNOTCYCLE Mountain Bike Race on January 31. This is a "weather be damned" rain, sleet, the nastier the better, race.

We will be using the same championchip style timing as the Bakers Dozen, having a little schwag, and a good old fashioned "Fear this", "Piss on Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler", Screw the economy, rebel yell hella good time.

I dont want to hear any of the following crap:

* My drivetrain will get damaged
* My spandex will get dirty
* I will slip in the mud
* My toes will get cold
* The bourbon in my water bottle tastes funny with cow crap in it"

How about this excuss... We will be eating tacos in Mexico... Kleen and I had been talking about going to on a Tom McEwan paddling trip for the last two years and we decided to pull the trigger last night. I had mentioned to Tom that we were thinking about it last month and when I talked with him the other day he said we had signed us up and was expecting us. So - flight booked for Jan31 thru Feb7 and Kathleen gets to try out some warm water paddling south of the boarder... I will call you for the next night ride - laters...ewb

I guess that's an okay excuse, this time...as long as you do the Baker's Dozen I won't be sore about it. The BD is April 18, registration isn't open but should be soon; There limiting to 400 racers so I'm going to sign up early, I recommend it. Early sign up will probably save you some $$ too. Now I just have to get back into shape....

One word: Brrrrrr. It hard to imagine mountain biking today when the weather man is calling for temperatures in the teens tomorrow.

Shannon,

The bike boxes I have are as follows
48"L x 15"W x 30"H - this is the bigger one, weighs about 30lbs
and the other is
11" X 30" X 45.5" and about 15lbs...

Let me know which works better for you and you can borrow either...

Some pics of the 1st Snot Cycle. Great race, tons of fun. Icy and slippery early on, icy, slippery and sloppy in later laps.
